FRANKFORT, Ky. —  Alan Keck (R) is the mayor of Somerset in Pulaski County, home to one of the fastest-growing communities in the Commonwealth.

The 2023 Republican gubernatorial candidate recently sat down for a interview with Spectrum News 1’s Mario Anderson to discuss his "Keck for Kentucky" campaign and what sets him apart in the crowded GOP gubernatorial primary.

In total, 15 candidates filed with the Secretary of State's office to run for Governor: 12 Republicans and 3 Democrats, including incumbent Gov. Andy Beshear.

Keck was re-elected as mayor of Somerset in Nov. 2022. Now he's seeking higher office, but first he'll have to clear the GOP primary, which will be held Tuesday, May 16.
