BELLEVUE, Ky. — Friday after Thanksgiving is the start of a busy weekend for many businesses. In Bellevue, local businesses and community members partake in the Christmas Walk.
“All the shops are decorated and everything’s very festive and it’s just a great time. People walking around enjoying the shopping, the restaurants, bars, and the entertainment,” said Michele Roeding.
She owns the Bellevue Beadery, and has done so for five years now. She said the Christmas Walk is a very important two-day event for the local businesses in Bellevue, especially after the last few years.
“Coming out of COVID and all the supply chain issues and inflation and all that crazy stuff,” she said.
The shopping and entertainment two-day event is something city leaders hope encourages people to shop locally.
“They gotta get back to helping the local businesses again,” said Mayor Charlie Cleves.
Cleves said it’s important to shop locally, because it actually helps keep the city of Bellevue going.
Walking or driving through Bellevue, you’ll notice how many local shops exist. Roeding’s is one of several. She’s grateful to have people come out and shop at this event.
“As a business owner, it’s wonderful. Everyone’s really happy and it’s just very enjoyable,” she said.
