LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Derby Festival and Norton Sports Health are opening registration for their annual training program for the 2023 miniMarathon and Marathon.

  • Orientation for the Norton Sports Health Training Program is set for Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Kentucky Derby Museum

  • Registration is also open for the 2023 miniMarathon and Marathon

The free 15-week program is packed with in-person training options to get participants ready for Kentucky’s largest day of road racing on April 29, 2023. “No matter your experience level or which distance you choose, the Norton Sports Health Training Program is a safe and successful way to train, get connected with other participants and stay on course for the Festival’s road races,” said Chris Martini, KDF Race Director. “Whether it’s your first race, or an annual tradition, this program will help you meet your goals and cross the finish line.”

Registration for the Norton Sports Health Training Program opens online on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at DerbyFestivalMarathon.com. The program includes a complete training guide, in-person weekly group runs, hill and track work, yoga, nutrition and more for participants at all levels of experience. The first 800 to register to participate in the program will also receive a free tech shirt.

Orientation for the Norton Sports Health Training Program is set for Thursday, Jan. 12, 2023, from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Kentucky Derby Museum. The January meeting includes distribution of the free training manual, as well as the opportunity to meet and talk with members of the Norton Sports Health Team before training begins. Training runs will take place weekly starting Jan. 14 and go through the week of the race.
