NEWPORT, Ky. — It’s a construction site now, but officials with Corporex Companies say the 25 acre Ovation space is working its way to a mixed use development that’ll feature 1,000 residential units and half a million square feet of office space.

What You Need To Know

  • Ovation is a 25 acre mixed use development site in Newport

  • Officials say it will have about 1,000 residential units, 500,000 square feet of office space, and over 100,000 square feet of retail space

  • Corporex representatives say things will really transform on the site throughout 2023 and into 2024

  • It’s set to be a space for everyone in the community

“It also has 3 hotels, and about 150,000 square feet of retail after it’s all said and done,” said Heather Harris, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at Corporex.

Harris said the site has really grown over time, and continues to do so. Office, hotel, and residential space continue to be built up by construction crews in Newport.

Officials said 2023 is a big year that’ll the public will see transformation on the site.

“Ovation office 1 is really coming close. That will open sometime in early 2023. It’s coming to a good conclusion there in terms of building. The Homewoods Suites, the hotel that’s right next to that ovation office building, is really taking shape,” Suzanne Deatherage, Corporex Marketing Director, said.

Deatherage also said they’re working on a parking garage up by the residential units and riverfront, where they’re pouring cement now. As for the residential units, those townhomes are starting to shape up too.

“The townhomes, you can see the elevator shafts that are up there. We won’t be able to commence additional construction until we complete the garage. That serves as the foundation and the platform,” Deatherage said.

She said there’s no exact time frame on getting residents moved in to live, but an estimate of 2024 sometime is what they’re looking at. She said it’s going to be a space anyone in the community can enjoy.

“There’s so many spaces available to the entire community. It’s not just meant for the residents that may be living here, it’s really meant for everybody,” she said.
