LOUISVILLE, Ky. — UPS is continuing its job fairs in Louisville as it looks to hire 3,600 seasonal workers. Pay starts at $35 for some positions.
Media Relations Director Jim Mayer says UPS has a lot to offer its workers. “We believe we’ve got an unbeatable package here in Louisville with the work, the pay and the benefits, and just looking forward to having good people come in and look for jobs and maybe look for a career,” Mayer said.
Additionally, Mayer notes the shipping company offers competitive wages for all seasonal positions. The company is offering $20 an hour for Worldport Package Handlers on the dayshift and $35 for Tractor-Trailer Drivers.
Mayer told Spectrum News 1 that one-third of employees started off as seasonal hires. “So while you may want to come to UPS and say, I just need, you know, some spending money for the holidays, for, you know, for a month or two, you may. We hope that you get to the company and decide this is a great place and decide to stay and want to make a career out of it,” Mayer said.
The job fair could provide the opportunity to make some extra cash this holiday season and have the potential to turn the job into a career.
The hiring event runs from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 8 at the UPS Center for Employment Opportunities, 8203 National Turnpike, Louisville, Ky. The event is by appointment and you can schedule here.
