Christopher 2X, while in Washington, D.C., was highlighting the work of his Future Healers program. The FBI told 2X about the award at FBI Headquarters.

2X is an advocate for victims of violent crime and their families. In 2019, 2X founded Game Changers, a nonprofit organization that promotes childhood education, parental involvement, mentoring and community involvement. In 2021, Game Changers started the Future Healers Got Zoo Buddies program for children in underserved neighborhoods. The organization, along with University of Louisville Health and the Louisville Zoo, brought over 100 kids suffering from trauma because of exposure to gun violence, to the zoo to allow them to connect and heal through nature and animals. The children were also given the opportunity to work with surgeons and law enforcement officers.

“FBI Louisville recognizes Christopher 2X as an invaluable partner in our efforts to stem the violence plaguing Louisville,” said Special Agent in Charge Jodi Cohen of the FBI’s Louisville Field Office. “Partnering with the Future Healers program gives the FBI a greater sense of empathy for what these families have endured and, conversely, it gives the youth and their families a better sense of who we are and what our role is within their community. Our hope is that these interactions are helping to build a foundation of trust with the next generation.”

The Director’s Community Leadership Award honors individuals and organizations for their efforts in combating crime, terrorism, drugs and violence in America. The award was formally created in 1990. Recipients of the award are recognized for their service to help keep America and its residents safe and are selected based on nominations from each of the FBI’s 56 field offices.
