LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The second day of Germantown’s Dainty Festival gave people their first chance to go inside the new Hauck’s Corner, but the benefit of this renovation goes well beyond the building.
The new bar and restaurant’s outdoor patio space connects Hauck’s to its neighboring businesses, like Bri Bowers Studio.
“I am excited to see what new places come in. I know that the next two shops down on the other side of the vintage shop are soon to be businesses, so I am excited to see what they are going to bring to the neighborhood too,” Bri Bowers, owner of Bri Bowers Studio, said.
Bowers has been an artist in Louisville for the last decade and moved into this space back in 2020. She said she saw the work at Hauck’s get closer to completion each day she showed up to work.
“I am really excited to see it open up and see the community hang out back there and discover it and hang out and make it like a communal space and a park,” Bowers said.
This new outdoor space has room for all kinds of vendors and activities, all part of the fun leading up to the World Championship Dainty Competition on Monday.
One of Hauck’s other neighbors, Germantown Vintage, set up shop for Sunday’s festivities.
“Yeah, it’s a nice hub for the community and throw events and kind of have a nice open safe space in the middle of the neighborhood,” Sean Reynolds, a vendor with Germantown Vintage, said.
Reynolds adds having a community space where businesses and the neighborhood can come together is fantastic.
“So it’s going to be really nice to have a place to kind of enjoy that connection again,” Reynolds said.
Thanks to the hard work of the team behind Hauck’s Corner, the entire block around it can benefit as well.
