LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky State Fair officials announced on Friday that they are now receiving applications for hundreds of employees they expect to hire in the runup to the annual summer festival.
The announcement coincides with their first big hiring push at the Youth Advisory Field Day sponsored by the Louisville Metro Police Department on Sat. July 16 at Iroquois Park from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Applicants can apply in-person at the event.
There are several other ways to apply as well. Individuals can apply online by going to kystatefair.org/join-our-team or by calling (502) 367-05230. There will be another in-person hiring event, July 20-22, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Administrative Office in Freedom Hall.
More than a dozen different types of roles are available, including admission gates, traffic control, guest services, operations/maintenance, grounds/outdoor cleanup and housekeeping. Applicants can also apply for indoor or outdoor work, for shifts in the morning, day, evening and overnight. Pay ranges from $11 an hour to $13.50 an hour and increases up to $20.25 for overtime hours.
In addition to guaranteed hours and overtime pay, employees receive a free meal during peak days of the state fair.
