The 2019 law would have banned abortion in the commonwealth, but a temporary restraining order is preventing the law from going into effect.

Cameron has tried to get the law enacted at all three levels of the state’s courts.

The ACLU, which filed a successful complaint against the ban, claims Cameron’s attempts are “political” and a “waste of taxpayer dollars to score cheap points.”

Cameron is running for governor and is hoping to unseat the incumbent Democrat Gov. Andy Beshear.

A hearing for a temporary injunction is scheduled for Wednesday at Jefferson County Circuit Court.
