LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer safely returned home to Kentucky from Israel on Saturday following his positive COVID-19 test last Sunday.
Mayor Fischer tested positive for COVID-19 while on a trip in Israel for U.S. mayors that was sponsored by the American Jewish Committee.
The announcement was made on Twitter through a statement from Mayor Fischer's Press Office, similar to the announcement made about Mayor Fischer's positive COVID-19 test result last week.
"The Mayor experienced mild symptoms, has recovered, continues to test negative, and will resume his public schedule on Monday, April 11," the statement said.
Mayor Fischer plans to get his second booster shot now that he has recovered, and he encourages all who are eligible to get vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 because "his experience shows that they work."
