COVINGTON, Ky. — Beverly Crawford said she’s noticing higher gas prices, and it’s made it hard to make ends meet. She said filling up her car was once about a $45 bill—but not so much anymore.
“It took it about $70 to fill it up,” Crawford said.

The average price of gas in Kentucky was around $3.77 per gallon on Sunday, according to AAA. The national average is now just surpassing $4. Others, like John Woehrmeyer, said they’re noticing the increase, too.
“Instead of being $40 to fill up now, it’s $85,” he said.
Crawford feels the government and what’s happening overseas are to blame for skyrocketing gas prices.
“War is absolutely crazy. It’s absolutely sad with everything that’s going on,” Crawford said. “I just pray that everything gets better.”
Crawford and Woehmeyer said they’re noticing not just gas prices taking a hike, but also their grocery bills. Crawford said that even though everything else is spiking in price, her paycheck balance remains the same.
“I don’t see things getting better any time soon, like within the next couple of months or something, but hopefully by the end of the year,” she said.
Crawford said she expects gas prices to continue to rise.
