LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The holidays are fast approaching and that means seasonal hiring is beginning to take place. Amazon announced it is hiring 2,500 seasonal workers as part of its nationwide hiring of 150,000 people.
Alicia Boler Davis, Senior Vice President, Global Customer Fulfillment said in a statement sent to Spectrum News 1. “Our seasonal hiring helps us deliver on our promises to customers while also providing flexibility to our full-time employees during busy periods. Joining Amazon in one of our seasonal roles offers high-paying, part-time work, or a path to a full-time position, with benefits like our Career Choice program to help people advance their education and careers within Amazon or beyond.”
All of the positions with Amazon, including seasonal hires, have an average starting pay rate of $18 per hour. The 2,500 seasonal Kentucky hires are in addition to the 3,000 full and part-time Operations jobs previously announced.
Amazon said in the statement many seasonal workers return each year or transition to full-time positions with the company.
Positions with Amazon include stowing, picking, packing, shipping and delivering customer orders. Regardless of the position, Amazon says each worker is fully trained. If you or someone you know is interested, they can apply online. The site features openings at all Amazon facilities.
