LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Five female inmates in Louisville's Metro Corrections jail were taken to the hospital early Friday morning for suspected overdoses, according to a news release.

Three inmates have returned from the hospital so far and won't require additional medical attention. The other two are expected to return later today, Metro Corrections Director Dwayne Clark said.

Metro Corrections is still engaged in an active investigation around the incident with help from an LMPD canine, the release said.
