Mark Pence lives nearby and told Spectrum News 1 the scene was chaotic Wednesday morning as he helped one of the shooting victims.

"This one is a hard one. Children are always hard. When it is this senseless and someone is so vulnerable, there is an added level of pain," Shields said.

Shields said citizens have approached the police and volunteered information and anyone with information is urged to come forward. The department is looking for a gray Jeep in connection to the shooting.

The department said no suspects are in custody and it is working with JCPS as this unfolds.
