LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A new, outdoor concert series is set to kick off Sept. 9 at the KFC Yum! Center, the venue announced Wednesday. The Pepsi Plaza Concert Series will feature performances from local artists spanning a variety of genres.

The free, four-part concert series will be held on the outdoor Pepsi Plaza at the main entrance to the Yum! Center. In addition to live music, the event will feature roving performances from Cirque Louie, a chance to win giveaways and door prizes as well as a cash bar with a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and other concessions.

Performances are open to all ages, and tickets won't be required to attend. The events take place from 5-7 p.m. on the following dates:

“We are thrilled that live entertainment has returned to Louisville and we are excited to invite the community out to enjoy a fun, free evening at the arena,” said KFC Yum! Center General Manager Eric Granger. “With the help of our partners, this is just one of many new events we have planned for the upcoming year that will be open to the entire community and bring people downtown to enjoy live music again.”

No outside food or drink will be permitted at the event, but fans are welcome to bring chairs or blankets to sit on.

According to a news release, the Yum! Center said it will continue to follow local guidelines regarding COVID-19 safety precautions during the event. The outdoor Pepsi Plaza provides room for social distancing, and masks are currently recommended but not required for guests.
