LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The sound of silence in Kentucky, though often drowned out by cicadas this time of year, will soon be over: Waterfront Wednesdays are returning this July.

WFPK, Louisville's independent radio station, confirmed its popular concert series would be coming back strong this year in a social media post Friday.

No details or featured performers were revealed, but WFPK said more information would come soon.

The monthly concert series is usually held on the Big Four Lawn at Waterfront Park in Louisville, often featuring food trucks from local businesses. Admission to Waterfront Wednesday concerts is free.

With affects of the COVID-19 pandemic still lingering, it's unclear if Waterfront Wednesdays will look like they have in years past.
