The Kentucky School for the Blind provides education services to students who are blind and visually impaired. Some of those students live on campus.
The school principal, Peggy Sinclair Morris, says the school has needed masks since students returned to school.
Along with students losing masks, some younger students require human guides which makes it hard to social distance, and masks are changed often.
Christopher 2x Game Changers is a nonprofit that focuses on community involvement and early childhood education.
They wanted to focus on the Kentucky School for the Blind after hearing of their need. The group dropped off 600 masks, but Game Changers has set a goal to raise 3,000 more for the school.
"We’re putting emphasis that this, even to us, is so special that we know that we can obtain that goal of 3,000 masks for them and what we would like the public to do is join in with Game Changers to make this happen for them,” said Christopher 2x.
The donation will help ensure the school has enough masks for the rest of the school year and summer programming.
In March, the organization collected 260,000 face masks for Jefferson County Public School students.
Donations can be taken directly to the school located at 1867 Frankfort Ave. Louisville, Ky. 40206.
