GRAYSON COUNTY, Ky. — Neighbors in a Grayson County community spent Friday cleaning up from a tornado that touched down the night before.

The National Weather Service released a preliminary report showing the storm was an EF-0 tornado with peak winds of 85 miles per hour.
Ritchie Hatfield's son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren survived the tornado in a bath tub. Hatfield was in his own home across the street when the winds began to pick up, he said.
"It makes me feel blessed," he said. "God was watching over us."
The storm blew in the front windows of his son's house and destroyed the front porch and garage, Hatfield said. Another house up the street also sustained damage.
No one was injured in the storm, according to Grayson County Sheriff Norman Chaffins. He came out to lend a hand with the cleanup.
"Being a small county like ours, a small-knit community, chances are when someone’s involved in a situation like this, we’re going to know who they are," he said.
Chaffins had known the Hatfield family for many years.
"They’re good people and certainly we want to step up for our citizens here in Grayson County."
