KENTUCKY — While we'll see a break from cloud cover on Friday, freezing temperatures are here to stay.

According to Spectrum News 1 meteorologists, we will recieve a brief period of calm and sunny weather Friday. Sunshine will be spreading across the Kentucky skies as the day continues into the later afternoon.

With highs only reaching the freezing point for most, this will still keep some ice frozen along untreated roads, so be cautious of certain pavements. Otherwise, sunshine should slightly melt some accumulations.

Clouds will be returning this evening with a small possiblity of some freezing drizzle in a few areas.
