LEXINGTON, Ky. — Bad weather is heading towards Kentucky but that isn't stopping the mass vaccination site the Kroger Field on the campus of the University of Kentucky.

The clinic is open from 9 each morning until 7 at night Tuesday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.

If you or someone you know has an appointment, please try to keep it if possible. Those coming to Kroger Field are being asked to dress warmly because you could be standing outside a few minutes before coming inside the stadium to check-in.

UK is emailing, calling, and texting patients to reach them the day before their scheduled appointments.

This is the message they are sending, "We are calling on behalf of the University of Kentucky and UK HealthCare to confirm your upcoming COVID-19 vaccine appointment at Kroger Field. Though the forecast calls for inclement winter weather, we plan to remain open. If that changes, we will contact you. You may be standing outside for a few minutes as you wait to check-in. To shorten the length of time you’re outside, we ask that IF you arrive early, please wait in your car and do NOT get in line to check in more than 10 minutes before your assigned check-in time. You will not lose your appointment, and you will receive your vaccine. Again, your appointment is confirmed. Please take extra precautions to be safe upon arrival at Kroger Field. If you have any questions, please email us vaccine@uky.edu or call 859-218-0111."
