LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The unprecedented protest in Washington, DC, prompted Gov. Andy Beshear to postpone his State of the Commonwealth address Wednesday night.  The address was also going to include the governor's budget plan for Kentucky.

The governor's statement was very brief.  It read, “Based on the events at our nation’s Capitol, the Senate President, Speaker of the House and I have jointly agreed to delay the joint session for the State of the Commonwealth and the Budget address to 7 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 7. We all recognize the gravity of this situation.”

Spectrum News 1 will carry the governor's address live Thursday night.

Gov. Beshear was one of many Kentucky leaders condemning the violence in Washington Wednesday.  He sent out a video tweet in which he called those involved "domestic terrorists."  He said everyone must condemn this.
