The University of Louisville announced the arena would admit roughly 3,000 fans per game to spread out among 22,090 seats, equating to a capacity of 15%. All seating is anticipated to be within the lower bowl and premium seating areas.
UofL said KFC Yum! Center officials worked with the university, the Governor's office, and others on the operation plan and reduced capacity.
Safety measures will also be in place, including temperature checks at entrances, face covering requirements, social distancing, and more. All ticketing will be digital.
ASM Global (ASMG), which manages the KFC Yum! Center on behalf of the Louisville Arena Authority, developed VenueShield, a program that assists with cleanliness and safety protocols for venue reopenings. Arena staff have employed the program while Centerplate, which manages the Arena's catering, has implemented safety protocols for concession sales, such as plexiglass barriers at all points of sale, wrapped or enclosed food products, and cashless sales.
The university said season ticket holders will receive information via email about their specific ticket options. UofL will reach out to all fans with information reflecting their individual status and options to allow as many season ticket holders an opportunity to attend games under the reduced capacity.
The arena hasn't been used for public events since March 10.
