LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Ask anyone and they will no doubt say they can't wait for 2020 to be gone. It has not been a good year for anyone. The Frazier History Museum wants to make things a little better — for free.
The Frazier is giving away free memberships to anyone in the 12-county area surrounding Louisville. The memberships are good through October 2021.
“It is a gift to Louisville’s citizens, especially the downtown business community,” Louisville Downtown Partnership Executive Director Rebecca Matheny said.
The Frazier is Kentucky's largest history museum and touts that it has something for every member of the family. With a membership, you can not only enjoy the exhibits but live performances and KentuckyShow! and more.
The museum is preparing for the opening of the new permanent exhibit Cool Kentucky. Other exhibits you can see The Spirit of Kentucky® Bourbon Exhibit, What is a Vote Worth? Suffrage Then and Now, Celebrating the Sounds of Kentucky, The Lewis & Clark Experience, Border State: Kentucky and the Civil War, The Founder’s Gallery, and The Stewart Historic Miniatures Gallery.
Louisville Tourism President and CEO Karen Williams said, “Though our work remains primarily focused on visitors, we know a vibrant Downtown will be key to rebuilding our convention business once we are on the other side of the pandemic. The more locals are utilizing downtown businesses will create the energy needed to attract meetings and increased leisure traffic alike.”
If you would like free membership, you can sign up online. Anyone living in Bullitt, Hardin, Henry, Jefferson, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, Clark (IN), Floyd (IN), and Harrison (IN) counties is eligible for the free membership. Registration opens Oct. 22 and membership is good until Oct. 31, 2021.
