NEWPORT, Ky. — Santa Claus is coming to town, well at least to the aquarium.

Newport Aquarium announced Scuba Santa will be back for 2020. This is the 18th year of this Northern Kentucky tradition.

Beginning Nov. 27 through Dec. 24, guests will be able to visit Scuba Santa and put in their Christmas wishes. But in case you didn't know, The Big Man and of course his elves, do all of this while swimming with a tankful of sharks.

Families will also be treated to holiday music and festive lights all around the aquarium.

“This year, maybe more than ever, traditions are so important,” said Rebecca Foster, Newport Aquarium’s Director of Guest Experience. “Scuba Santa and the holiday wonder he brings is

just what we all need this winter.”

Pandemic precautions are in place to ensure the aquarium is safe for everyone. The Newport Aquarium offers limited capacity to allow for enough social distancing so if you plan to attend you will need to buy your tickets in advance. You can make your reservations and learn more about the aquarium by visiting the aquarium's website or call 800-406-3474.
