LOUISVILLE, Ky. — This weekend, protest group Until Freedom is hosting BreonnaCon, a "community convention" featuring workshops, trainings, plenaries, women's and men's empowerment programs, a school supplies giveaway, and a "Bre-B-Q." The event, which lasts from Aug. 22 through Aug. 25, is calling for justice for Breonna Taylor.

“BreonnaCon will engage, activate, and transform the Louisville community by building a comprehensive slate of programming that will amplify the urgent need for Justice for Breonna,” said Until Freedom Co-Founder Tamika Mallory. “BreonnaCon will address a number of issues impacting the community including food insecurity.”
Until Freedom said BreonnaCon will end with a nonviolent direct-action training and "massive demonstration" in Louisville Aug. 25.
"With the application of Kingian Nonviolence, participants will escalate the urgent call for justice for Breonna Taylor and the Louisville community," stated a release from the social justice group.
BreonnaCon will conclude with a nonviolent direct-action training, followed by a massive demonstration throughout Louisville on Tuesday, Aug. 25.
Several celebrities are slated to appear at the event, including Porsha Williams of "Real Housewives of Atlanta;" Phaedra Parks also of "Real Housewives of Atlanta;" Amber Riley from "Glee," and more.
