LOUISVILLEKy. — Thursday marked the five-month anniversary of the shooting death of Breonna Taylor by three Louisville police officers.

Breonna’s mother Tamika Palmer, their family’s legal team, and supporters gathered outside of Kingdom Fellowship Church in Louisville to discuss two recent meetings they had with the Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron and Mayor Greg Fischer.

“They discussed why it was important to get the investigation finished but also to get it done right so the killers of Breonna Taylor will be brought to justice based on the evidence,” attorney Ben Crump told Spectrum News 1. He added, "We think justice delayed is justice denied. It’s been five months now, over 150 days, we hope it won’t be 200 days before the decision is made to charge the killers of Breonna Taylor.”

Joining supporters was celebrity radio and television host Nick Cannon.

“I charge you all to make sure you document this the right way and don’t be distracted by many of the other things going on in the word. We’ve all seen the hashtag 'Justice for Breonna' but we need to make sure that is much more than a hashtag,” Cannon said. ‘

Cameron has said several times since Taylor’s death he would not estimate how long the investigation into the police shooting would take. Crump and Tamika Palmer met with Mayor Fischer Wednesday to discuss how the city can earn back the trust of those who lost it in the days following Taylor's.

“He is the president of the United States Conference of Mayors so I told him whatever actions he takes sends a message not only to Louisville, Kentucky but also cities all across the United States of America,” Crump said.
