CAMPBELL COUNTY, Ky. — A Kenton County Family Court Judge is facing nine allegations of misconduct and this week she’s defending her role and her name.

Most of Thursday’s testimony involved numerous witnesses on behalf of Judge Dawn Gentry.

Among the group was Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders who testified about his support for Gentry’s campaign.

“And then after my contested primary was over, I took more of an active role,” Sanders said. “I assisted her with a fundraiser along with a number of elected officials in Kenton County and then also assisted her and I put up a lot of big signs 4 by 8s and 4 by 4s.”

The hearing is happening at a Campbell County courtroom.

Gentry is suspended pending the outcome of this conduct hearing, a decision that will come from the Kentucky Judicial Conduct Commission.

Former prosecutor Amy Burke was once with the Kenton County Attorney's Office. She testified that Gentry kept all court proceedings in the courtroom. Gentry is accused of holding pre-trial hearings with those who supported her while private attorneys were left out.

The hearing is expected to wrap up on Friday. The commission says it could take up to two weeks for them to return with a decision regarding Judge Gentry.
