KENTUCKY — Dollar General Corp. announced its plans to open two new distribution centers in Kentucky, expecting to create more than 360 jobs. A traditional distribution center will be built in Walton, Ky. while a DG Fresh cold storage facility will be built in Bowling Green.

The facility in Walton is the company's 18th traditional distribution center, and construction on the 630,000 square foot center is set to begin in September 2020. The center, which will employ 250 people and service 800 stores, is expected to be operational by January 2021.
In Bowling Green, construction will begin on the DG Fresh cold storage facility in early fall 2020. The 160,000 square foot facility will be operational by summer 2021, employing 65 people and servicing 1,500 stores.
Currently, Dollar General has 580 stores across Kentucky, and roughly 5,600 Kentuckians are employed by the company.
