LEXINGTON, Ky. — With most schools starting their upcoming semester online, many teachers understand the problems that may come along. That’s why an organization in Kentucky is bringing together teachers from all over the state to help students and parents who may need extra help with their Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) work.
“They're finding that there's not enough hours in the day to do everything, so that's where we wanted to help the parents and the students,” said Kaylae Price, one of the Founders of Virtual Teaching Institue.
With many teachers in different locations, parents and students can receive help from the Virtual Teaching Institute from anywhere in Kentucky either in person, if services are available, or through their online services.
Some of the services the group offers are weekly parent meetings, daily scheduling and monitoring of homework assignments and virtual tutoring sessions.
“I guess the most challenging part was just the change. But really what we're seeing is the students are having a lot of difficulty with it. More than the teachers and also the parents," Price said.
The Virtual Teaching Institute is starting its services Aug. 3 with a Back to School Refresher program for first through fifth grade.
