LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Tuesday night Louisville Metro Police officers were called to an east end neighborhood by a man who said he was having difficulties.

Two officers arrived at a home in the 1600 block of Ash Glen Road which is just off Shebyville Road.  The call was a report of a "distressed man with a gun."

Chief Colonel Robert Schroeder said unlike the other incidents across Louisville for the last week, this situation was different in that the man called police and officers knew what situation they were walking into. Both officers were wearing and activated their body cameras during the confrontation.

Only one of the officers fired his weapon. Officer Patrick Norton is on administrative leave until an internal investigation is complete. In the pair of videos released, you can hear both officers talking to the man, Connor.  After repeated attempts to get him to put down  his weapon, something that isn't seen on the cameras happens and Norton fires his gun.

The 25-year-old white man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  He is not being charged with anything. Wednesday police did not know if he had been released from the hospital.
