LOUISVILLE, Ky. - In Louisville Metro Police Department's (LMPD) latest news conference, Assistant Chief LaVita Chavous told Spectrum News 1 the newly released surveillance camera footage both inside and outside of David McAtee's restaurant "raises more questions and we are trying to find them out through the investigation."

What You Need To Know

  • Video of shooting matched frame-by-frame

  • Police say video raises more questions

  • 125 arrests since start of protests, most have already been released.

  • Fire at Dino's was set by a Molotov cocktail

On Tuesday, LMPD released the video that shows McAtee and others inside his kitchen at his business, YaYa's, before and after he was shot by officers. The preliminary autopsy report says he died of a single gunshot. The surveillance cam also shows the scene outside of the business at the time of the shooting.

Spectrum News 1's Eileen Street lined both video perspectives side-by-side, synched them up, and slowed them down frame-by-frame. You are not seeing the full videos of both clips because one was longer than the other and we needed them to match. In one video, it appears a young woman who introduced herself to Street as McAtee's niece, appears hit. She claims to have been injured. However, the police did not confirm this in their Tuesday evening briefing. Chavous says there was no report filed and they have no knowledge of it.

The young woman is also seen pointing to a gun on the floor after McAtee collapses in the kitchen; Chavous did confirm a gun was found close to his body.

In other updates on the continuing protests happening across Louisville, LMPD said 125 arrests have been made in connection with the protests so far; 116 people have been released already.

Late Monday, a fire broke out at Dino's convenient store across from McAtee's restaurant. Louisville Fire Major Bobby Cooper says the arson team investigated and determined it was caused by a Molotav cocktail thrown onto the roof. The building suffered only minor damage and no one was hurt.
