LEXINGTON, Ky. — Following recent guidance from Governor Andy Beshear (D), several Lexington hospitals will allow one visitor per patient beginning May 18.
Baptist Health, CHI Saint Joseph Health, and UK HealthCare are easing visitor restrictions as they resume non-emergent and non-urgent procedures as part of Kentucky’s healthcare reopening.
The hospitals, which adopted a zero-visitor policy in March, are still enforcing some restrictions. All hospitals will require screenings upon entrance and visitors must wear masks and wash their hands.
Those with a fever, cough, or other symptoms are asked to not visit the hospital, and patients are asked to reduce the number of personal items taken to the hospital.
Visitors are also asked to leave the hospital at the end of their visit and not go to lobbies, waiting and vending areas, or cafeterias.
These new restrictions also impact Baptist Health Lexington, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, Saint Joseph East, Saint Joseph Hospital, UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital, and UK Good Samaritan Hospital.
More information on specific hospital policies are included on their websites.
