LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Breeders’ Cup announced that it is releasing branded face masks in an effort to encourage both COVID-19 containment and support for the horse racing industry.
All proceeds from the masks, which will feature the organization’s signature logo and color purple, will go to Breeders’ Cup Charities for COVID-19 relief efforts.
Now available for preorder, the masks cost $15 individually or $25 for a pack of three. Each purchase includes disposable filters and features an elastic band and interior pouch for anti-dust filters.
“As the world continues to adapt to the new normal, it has become readily apparent that wearing facial coverings in public remains a crucial part of flattening the curve,” said Drew Fleming, president and CEO of Breeders’ Cup. “Promoting health and safety has always been the Breeders’ Cup’s foremost priority, and we hope to encourage people to band together and take precautionary measures to fight the virus with our new face masks while simultaneously showcasing their enthusiasm for our brand and everything it stands for.”
The debut of the masks follows other COVID-19 relief efforts undertaken by the Breeders’ Cup such as the virtual happy hour series, “Cocktails & Conversation,” that raises proceeds for backstretch communities impacted by the virus.
The 2020 Breeders’ Cup is still scheduled to run at Keeneland November 6 and 7.
