LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport opened a new parking lot today that offers 974 additional spots.
The new Express Shuttle Parking Lot is available for long term parking and travelers will be delivered to the terminal via a shuttle bus service.
“We’ve seen a tremendous growth in passenger traffic at SDF and with this comes the need for more parking,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “The new Express Shuttle Parking Lot provides our travelers another option that is affordable and convenient to make someone’s trip easier.”
The shuttle service takes passengers and their luggage directly to the terminal for their flight. The service begins daily at 4 a.m. until the last flight arrives at the airport. The Express Shuttle Parking buses are dedicated to shuttling passengers back and forth from the new lot. There will be up to three shuttles running during peak travel times. A separate shuttle will continue to provide transporation to and from the airport's surface lot. You can see the different lots on this map from the airport.
The cost to park in the new lot is $8 per day per vehicle or $48 per vehicle per week with the seventh day being free. The new lot is located in the old Cell Phone Lot and is close to the East Runway. It's a favorite spot for many plane spotters. Because of the interest, there is a two-hour grace period so you can use the lot free of charge.
