LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Going to a University of Louisville football game next season is going to be drastically different than what it was this season. UofL athletics is making several changes and improvements to "enhance the fan and game-day experience."
The school is going to build a Fan Zone, boost WiFi access, continue resurfacing the stadium seats, and make significant parking changes and improvements.
The Fan Zone is going to be built in the area that currently houses Purple Lot parking on the south side of the Central Avenue tunnel. The school is building a live music stage, beer garden, and an area for food trucks. A Family Fun Zone with a miniature turf field will be build and there will additional reserved space for tents and tailgating opportunities.
There is a new hotel being built on the southeast corner of Floyd Street and Central Avenue and as a result the Platinum T lot will no longer be available for gameday parking. The changes to lots means a parking reshuffle for all season ticket holders. Reserved parking will only be available in the Platinum S and Bronze Lots.
Season ticket holders with reserved parking will receive parking options in March and will be able to make their selections for the 2020 season.
Fan Zone construction in the Purple Lot will begin in the spring.
“This is another major step forward in our fan engagement strategy,” Vice-President/Director of Athletics Vince Tyra said.
