LOUISVILLE, Ky.- Teams of 20 people each took to tugging rope attached to a Boeing 757 jet at UPS Worldport on Saturday morning, for a fundraiser. The competition pits teams against each other to see who can move the plane 12 feet the fastest. It's an annual competition for Special Olympics Kentucky; this year, it raised $93,000 this year.

In true tug-o-war fashion, team members used all the strength they could muster to wheel the 130,000 lb. plane toward them on the runway. Their progress was measured.

"I think the training comes from just years of volunteering and having a big heart, and that's all the prerequisite that you need to come on out here," said UPS Airlines' Tracy Roberts.

"You don't think you can actually move it when you first start, but it's pretty cool when everyone comes together and it's such a great analogy for what's going on here today. UPS, the community, Special Olympics, the athletes, everybody who's out here today just pulling together for a great cause," Roberts said.

To participate, each team has to raise at least $1,500. Special Olympics athletes were among those competing.

"I'm normally mostly an introvert, but to get out and do something like this, pull with friends family everyone watching...it's been a wonderful time," Timothy Hampton said.
