EL SEGUNDO, Ca. - A pilot. An artist. An Astronaut and a NASA mathematician are just a few of the pioneering women Barbie is choosing to honor as a way to celebrate International Women's Day and the 60th anniversary of every girl's favorite doll.
18 historic and modern-day role models are being honored with dolls in their likeness. The "Inspiring Women" series is celebrating:
- Aviator Amelia Earhart
- Artist Frida Kahlo
- Astronaut Sally Ride
- Mathematician Katherine Johnson
In addition, Barbie's "Shero" series will honor:
- Wonder Woman director, Patty Jenkins
- Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim
- Conservationist Bindi Irwin
- French Chef Helene Darroze
