LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Florida is a popular destination for many Louisvillians and now there's another non-stop flight coming to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. Allegiant Air annouced it will begin seasonal non-stop flights to Sarasota, Florida beginning Monday, November 25, 2019. The flights will be offered twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.
“Southwest Florida is our most requested leisure destination and we’re happy to now offer more options and more access to this underserved region,” said Dan Mann, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority. “We’re pleased that Allegiant continues to expand their footprint here in Louisville, which demonstrates the strength of our market and strong interest of area travelers in Allegiant’s services.”
The Sarasota flights mark the 32 non-stop destination and Allegiant's tenth route from Louisville. Allegiant also providesd service to Destin-Fort Walton Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Myrtyle Beach, New Orleans, Orlando-Sanford, Punta Gorda, Saint Petersburg-Clearwater and Savanna-Hilton Head. Tickets to Sarasota are on sale now at Allegiant.
"The addition of another nonstop flight is a testament to the great momentum happening at the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport," said Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer. "I applaud Allegiant Air for growing in Louisville and giving our residents more options for leisure travel."
Allegiant also announced beginning November 25, it will begin service from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) to West Palm Beach, Florida. Allegiant's Sarasota flights for Northern Kentucky will also increase from three days a week to five times a week. The addition of the new route increases Allegiant's reach to 21 cities from CVG.
