LOUISVILLE, Ky- Mitch McConnell is responding to his campaign account being locked by Twitter for posting a profanity laced video.

While speaking on the Terry Meiners Show on NewsRadio 840 WHAS, The Republican Senate Leader addressed the ongoing controversy.

“Twitter perfectly fine with carrying Massacre Mitch which is obviously an invitation to violence, but when those kind of words are directed at me, they shut us down, locked our account down,” McConnell told Meiners. “We are in a major war with them, and they haven’t given up yet.”

The campaign account was locked when it posted part of video from a Monday night protest outside of Louisville residence. The video featured people  shouting  “Murder Turtle” and profanities with one person allegedly saying they would like to "just stab the m*****f***** in the heart."

McConnell told Meiners locking his account shows the bias of the company.

“This shows you the political tilt, the left wing tilt of these big companies and how they try to suppress speech when it’s inconvenient,” McConnell said. “When they hear peoples who actions they support crossing the line, they shut it down. I think that’s selective enforcement of their views about who ought to be influential on political discourse in the country.”

Protesters are demanding that McConnell call the Senate back in session to pass gun reform laws including the universal background check measure that passed the House in March, McConnell says that’s likely not going to happen.

“if we did that we would just have people scoring points and nothing would happen,” McConnell said. “There has to be a bipartisan discussion here on what we can agree on if we do it prematurely it will just be another frustrating experience for all of us and the public where people are just trying to score political points and not trying to get an outcome.”

The Senate is currently on the August recess.
