LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Doctors who have examined Gregory Bush say he is competent to stand trial for the October 24, 2018 shooting of two people at a Jeffersontown, Kentucky Kroger store.
Jefferson Circuit Judge Annie O'Connell will decide whether to accept the findings of the report and rule Bush competent at an October 31 competency hearing.
Bush pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder, two counts of wanton endangerment and one count of attempted murder in an earlier court appearance. He is accused of killing 69-year-old Maurice Stallard and 67-year-old Vickie Lee Jones at the Kroger off Taylorsville Road in Jeffersontown.
In May, Bush was ruled incompetent to stand trial and O'Connell ordered him sent to the Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center. While there, Bush underwent a forced 60-day medication treatment.
