GEORGETOWN, Ky. - Old Friends Farm, a Thoroughbred retirement farm in Georgetown, KY, is offering a chance to walk among champions with their new “Twilight Tour” experience that will run from June to August. The farm is home to over 200 retired racehorses including big names like 1996 Breeders’ Cup Classic winner “Alphabet Soup,” 1997 Kentucky Derby-Preakness winner “Silver Charm,” 2002 Kentucky Derby-Preakness winner “War Emblem,” Belmont Stakes winners “Touch Gold” and “Sarava,” and three-time Santa Anita Handicap star “Game on Dude.”

The farm already offers daily 90-minute guided outdoor walking tours during the summer at 10:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm, however the new “Twilight Tour” provides an alternate opportunity to see the storied equines. "We want everyone to be able to visit the farm and meet our champion Thoroughbreds," said Old Friends founder and President Michael Blowen. "We know many people work during the day and can't always make a morning or afternoon tour. So we hope these Twilight Tours will offer another option. Also, it's a great time to enjoy the cooler evening temperatures," Blowen added.

Beginning June 5 and running through August, Old Friends will offer their 90-minute guided walking tour on Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6:00 pm. Between Wednesday July 10 and Sunday July 14, the farm will offer tours each night of the week to welcome visitors from BreyerFest 2019.

In addition, the farm has launched a private “Spotlight Photo Tour” opportunity with Old Friends photographer-in-residence Laura Battles. During this customized, 90+ minute tour, Battles will share her techniques, showcase lesser seen areas of the farm, and give guests the chance to photograph the retired horses.

Twilight Tours and Spotlight Photo Tours require reservations. Visitors can book online. Online booking closes 24 hours in advance. Guests can also call the farm for reservations or additional information at (502) 863-1775. If online booking is closed, guests must call to secure a reservation.

Regular guided tours are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children ages 6-12, and free for children age 5 and under through June 30. Starting July 1, tours will be $15 for adults, $10 for children ages 4-12, and free for children age 4 and under.
