New York, Ny. - The New York Liberty drafted sharp-shotting University of Louisville guard Asia Durr.

Durr was the second overall pick in the 2019 WNBA draft, held Wednesday night in New York City.

The 22-year-old averaged just over 21 points a game for the 2018-19 season. Durr was named ACC Player of the year the last two seasons, as well as receiving unanimous All-American honors and the Ann Meyers Drysdale and Dawn Staley Awards.

Two of Durr's teammates, Arica Carter and Sam Fuehring were also selected in the draft.  Carter was chosen by the Phoenix Mercury with the 32 pick. The redshirt senior averaged 8.5 points per game and lead the ACC in assist-to-turnover (2.8) ratio.

Forward Sam Fuehring went 34 to the Washington Mystics. In her senior year, Fuehring averaged 10.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. She will join former Cardinal, Myisha Hines-Allen on the team.  Hines-Allen was drafted last year by the Mystics.

With all three seniors being drafted, Louisville now has 11 players that have been selected in the history of the WNBA Draft. Of the 11 WNBA Draft picks, nine have played under head coach Jeff Walz.
