KENTUCKY — The 2025 Kentucky General Assembly is underway for its annual legislative session that runs until March 28, 2025.
This year is particularly important; since it is an odd-calendar year, this year is a “short session” and lasts for 30 legislative days instead of 60 days.
During this In Focus Kentucky segment, Minority Floor Leader Pamela Stevenson, D-Louisville, shared legislative updates and caucus priorities for this year’s session from the Kentucky House of Representatives Democrats' perspective.
Stevenson is an attorney and retired U.S. Air Force Colonel. She was first elected to the General Assembly in 2021. In 2023, Stevenson unsuccessfully ran as the Democratic nominee in the state attorney general election, losing to Republican nominee Russell Coleman.
Stevenson also confirmed during this interview that she is running in the Democratic primary for Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell's seat in 2026.
