1. Former Kentucky governor, KFC owner John Y. Brown dies at age 88

A Democrat, Brown served as governor of the Commonwealth from 1979 to 1983.

2. Mar-a-Lago special master case goes before appeals court

It was not clear when the court might rule, but a victory for the Justice Department could speed its investigation along by giving prosecutors access to documents they say they need for their work.

3. UK president boosts diversity, inclusion efforts after racist assault on campus

The university has committed $10 million to bolster diversity, equity and inclusion learning coursesfor all students in UK 101 courses.

4. White House launches campaign to encourage COVID shots, with focus on seniors

The goal, according to a White House fact sheet, is to “help avoid thousands of preventable COVID-19 deaths,” which have typically spiked after holiday gatherings.
