There are many things to do across SoCal. Here is a list of some events worth checking out:
Museums Free-for-All
SoCal Museums announced the annual event will take place March 16 across 30 participating museums and cultural institutions that focus on art, cultural heritage, film and natural history. The offer is for general admission only and does not apply to ticketed exhibitions or parking fees. A list of participating museums can be found here. Note that some museums are requiring advance reservations.
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium - Public fish dissection
Two sessions at 1:15 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. on March 15 will let visitors get a closer look at the inside and outside of a fish via a dissection demontration. The event at the aquarium in San Pedro is open to all ages and registration is not required.
Superman Day celebration at Warner Bros.
On April 18, Warner Bros. will screen Christopher Reeve’s "Superman" on the iconic WB backlot. The day will celebrate the Man of Steel’s legacy with activities, including going behind the scenes to see props and costumes. The tour will last about an hour.
The Warner Bros. Studio Store will also showcase art from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets cost $89 for adults ages 5 and up. As a bonus, any DC merchandise purchase will include a free special edition comic book, while supplies last.
All-female vinyl DJ series
In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Santa Monica Proper Hotel is hosting an all-female vinyl DJ series called "Women on Wax." Every Friday and Saturday night throughout March, guests can enjoy performances by notable and rising female DJs. Additionally, in support of those affected by the recent Los Angeles-area fires, Santa Monica Proper is collecting vinyl record donations throughout March. Anyone can bring in their vinyl records to the hotel throughout the month for donation.
70th anniversary at Disneyland Resort
Beginning May 16 and running through summer 2026, the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration will honor seven decades of happiness. The resort will offer limited-time entertainment, colorful décor, themed food and beverages, collectible merchandise and more. The special ticker offer — which goes on sale March 11 for visits May 16-Aug. 14, 2025 — can help guests save money on multi-day visits with a variety of flexible options. The “World of Color Happiness!” nighttime spectacular will feature a special rendition of “Rainbow Connection” performed by Boyz II Men.
Los Angeles Festival of Movies
The LAFM announced Thursday the first wave of programming and opening night film for its upcoming edition of the festival taking place April 3-6. Now in its second year, the festival will present a program of more than 20 films — including a world premiere, featured artist talks, a curated short film slate and a newly introduced Animation Today program. Passes are currently on sale here, and individual tickets will go on sale the week of March 10.
The Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch
Reopening March 1, the colorful flowers are expected to transform the rolling hills of North San Diego County. The 55-acres of Giant Tecolote Ranunculus flowers that make up The Flower Fields will be in bloom for approximately six to eight weeks. The event announces the arrival of spring in Southern California. Tickets must be purchased online as they won't be sold onsite. For more information, visit the Carlsbad Ranch website.
CicLAvia: Koreatown meets Hollywood
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 6, a few streets will be closed so bicycles can take over. The event will take place through Koreatown and Hollywood. The event is free to participate. For more on the route and tips on how to participate, visit the CiCLAvia website.
11th annual Bob Baker Day
On April 13 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Bob Baker Marionettes Theater will host a free outdoor carnival at LA State Historic Park. Bob Baker Day 2025 is focused on Recovery Through the Arts. As LA rebuild after the wildfires, they are welcoming everyone to partipate in the healing and uplifting of communities through art, imagination and joy. An RSVP is required and can be made online. There's also a suggested $20 donation. There will be music, games, puppets and more.
Free Pi Day celebration
CAMP and Mathnasium will be hosting parties with free pizza and hands-on STEM activities, such as slime-making, bracelet crafting, face painting and more on March 14 at various locations. Celebrate 3.14 by reserving a spot online. Kids must be accompanied by an adult.
126th Golden Dragon Parade
This free event has been rescheduled for March 22 from 1 to 4 p.m. It will make its way through the heart of Chinatown with colorful dragons, dancers and music groups. Grandstand seats cost $50 each.
Grammy Museum
Acclaimed music photographer Jay Blakesberg's latest exhibit "RetroBlakesberg: The Music Never Stopped" is on display through June 15, 2025.
Shark Lagoon Nights
On select Friday evenings, the Aquarium of the Pacific's Shark Lagoon will be open until 9 p.m. The free event allows visitors to get close to the ocean's ultimate predator. It will give them a chance to touch smaller sharks such as bamboo sharks and see sting rays and big sharks. The next free event is April 4.
Hollyhock House
Self-guided tours of the Frank Loyd Wraight house are offered from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday to Saturday. Advance tour ticket purchase is recommended.
