NATIONWIDE — For four straight nights last week, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his advocates stated their case to the American people in their largely virtual Democratic National Convention.

This week, the Republicans have their say.

Sunday, the Trump campaign released the official list of speakers at the Republican National Convention, which is scheduled to begin monday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

While the Democrats stuck to a mostly virtual affair, the GOP is opting for a scaled-down "semi-bubble" in Charlotte, according to NPR, featuring a reduced number of delegates, masks, temperature checks and even a bluetooth fob on delegates' badges to see who they come in contact with.

"The badges have a number, and we will know what numbers are in contact with other numbers," Dr. Jeffrey Runge, the RNC's health consultant, told NPR. "But they won't be identified with a person unless there is someone who is positive for COVID."

The Trump campaign says that the convention "will honor the great American story, the American people that have written it" and extoll how President Trump's agenda "has empowered them to succeed."
