FRANKFORT, Ky. — Former Gov. Steve Beshear was in a single-car accident on July 31, according his son, Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Ky.

The younger Beshear said his father “will make a full recovery” in a post on social media. He added that his family appreciates the kind words and prayers they have received. 

“God is good, even when things are tough. Dad is going to be OK. He’s already calling me to offer even more advice,” he said.

The elder Beshear is 79 years old and served two terms as Kentucky’s governor from 2007 to 2015.
