LOUISVILLE, Ky. — We are still over 300 days from the next Thunder Over Louisville and the Kentucky Derby Festival, but KDF has a way to help you celebrate until next year.

  • The yard sale will be at the KDF offices on June 16 beginning at 8 a.m.

  • The sale will feature 2023 merchandise and items from past Derby Festivals

It’s Spring cleaning time at KDF and they are hosting their annual yard sale. The one day only event will take place Friday, June 16 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Derby Festival office at 1001 South Third Street in Old Louisville.

Fans can pick up event items such as t-shirts, pins, posters and other memorabilia at a discount. The items for sale aren’t just from 2023, the sale will feature vintage items that span the Festival’s history, including glassware, ornaments, postcards and more.

 Many people collect Derby Festival pins and once again the Derby Festival Pin Wagon is returning and it will showcase 2023 metal event pins and plastic pins from 1973 to 2023. The Festival is also opening a special Pin Room with metal event, balloon and corporate pins dating back to the 1970s. Fans will can buy them at reduced prices. Collectors will find a special edition 2023 Exchange Pin set.

It’s a very popular event and crowds historically have been large. KDF says fans should come early for the best selection and deals. Cash and credit cards will be accepted and the sale will happen regardless of the weather.
