LIMA, Ohio — Authorities were able to apprehend one of the two inmates who escaped from the Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution in Lima early Wednesday morning.

The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation said Bradley Gillespie, 50, and James Lee, 47, were reported missing Tuesday from the Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution.

Gillespie is 6 feet tall, 200 pounds, is bald and has blue eyes. The sheriff's office said he's a convicted murderer.

Just after 3 a.m., police in Henderson, Kentucky, observed a stolen vehicle believed to be used by the escaped inmates. Officers initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle attempted to flee until it crashed on Camaro Drive.

The occupants fled on foot and Lee was arrested. Gillespie has not been apprehended.

Lee was convicted of burglary, breaking and entering, and safecracking.

No other details were disclosed, including how they were escaped or when they were discovered missing.

Officials urged not to approach the individuals if they are seen and to immediately call 911, as they are "armed and dangerous," according to a Facebook post from the sheriff's office.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is leading the investigation.
