LOUISVILLE, Ky. — You may not realize it but there are more than 200 acres of tree, plants and flowers that cover Churchill Downs.  That's not just for Oaks and Derby. It is a year-round job to keep on of the most famous racetracks beautiful.

Since Oct. 2009, Matt Bizzell has been the Direcor of Horiticulture at Churchill Downs.  He's actually been with the track since 1998 when he started as the Assistant Director of Horticulture.  It's been his job and the job of the nine other members of his team to make sure every geranium, tulip, lilly and rose looks perfect when visitors come to the track.

Photojournalist Scott Neumann caught up with Bizzell to learn more about exactly what it takes to keep Churchill Downs looking fantastic 365 days a year.
